Mavericks Hold Steady at Fourth in Weekly Polls

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team maintained its spot at fourth in the weekly college hockey polls conducted by the web site USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine. It's the Mavericks' second straight week at number four and their sixth straight week in the top 10.
The Mavericks received one first-place vote in the USA Today poll, the only team other than top-ranked Minnesota Duluth to receive a first-place vote.
UNO also held steady in the latest power rankings from the web site InsideCollegeHockey.com, coming in fourth there as well.
UNO is coming off a split of two games with No. 9/10 North Dakota. The Mavs dropped a 6-5 decision in the opener last Friday before bouncing back for a 1-0 win on Saturday, capped by the game-winning goal from #Alex Hudson# with .3 seconds remaining on the game clock. #John Faulkner# made 30 saves to earn his third shutout of the season and his career.
UNO is one of six WCHA teams in this week's top 20. Minnesota Duluth is the unanimous number one pick in both polls followed by UNO, North Dakota (9), Denver (12), Minnesota (15) and Wisconsin (16). USA Today ranks the top 15 teams.
The Mavericks are off this week but return to action on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4 when they visit fellow WCHA newcomer Bemidji State.
