OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha has already sold 13,500 tickets and this week is making its final push to achieve its goal to “Sell Out Ohio State”, presented by Cox Communications, on Friday, Feb. 5. Only 2,500 tickets remain for the UNO hockey team's game with Ohio State on that date. Game time is 7:35 p.m.
“We have already set a record for the largest crowd in UNO hockey history, but we're not satisfied with that number,” said Director of Athletics #Trev Alberts#. “We set out to sell every seat in Qwest Center Omaha for Friday's game and with a strong week of sales, we expect to do just that.”
Beginning February 2nd at 9 a.m., the Sapp Field House box office on the UNO campus will be open for an unprecedented 33 straight hours to accommodate those night owls who want to purchase their tickets. As a special incentive to buy tickets, patrons will have the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets based on the time of the buy. For example, if a fan were to purchase tickets at the Sapp Field House on Feb. 3 at 1 a.m., they would pay $1 per upper bowl ticket to the game. The special ticket pricing applies only to sales between 1 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Feb. 3.
As a special promotion for this night, Cox customers can purchase a ticket for just $12 by showing their monthly bill at the Qwest Center box office or the Sapp Fieldhouse box office. Also, Metro Federal Credit Union will be giving away 5,000 t-shirts, two $500 student scholarships and two $500 Visa gift cards at the game.

Also this week, the Mavericks begin their second annual fundraiser for Leap for a Cure to benefit brain cancer research. UNO hockey players, coaches and staff are growing mustaches in support of the effort. Fans will have a chance to vote on their favorite mustaches by donating money in each players' respective jar at all UNO home hockey games as part of the “Stache for Cash”. Players who receive the most donations will continue to grow their mustaches until the finale of the event on Saturday, February 27 when the Mavericks host Bemidji State. All of the money raised will benefit the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.
