
Domike Resets National Best at Nebraska Tune-Up

LINCOLN, Neb. - #Nkeiruka Domike# reset her own top mark in the triple jump for the third straight week as the UNO track and field team took part in the Nebraska Tune-Up on Friday night. It was UNO's final meet before the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association indoor championship next weekend.
Domike posted a jump of 41 feet, 10 inches, three inches longer than her previous best. In addition to being the best jump in Division II this year, it's also a new school record.
Sophomore #Lianne McNaughton# threw a new personal best in the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 10 1/2 inches, more than three feet beyond her next best throw this season. That's a provisional qualifying mark and also the sixth-best throw in the MIAA this year.
On the track, #Kayla Koepke# set a new personal best with a time of 25.32 in the 200 meter dash.
Koepke and teammates #Anja Puc and Maja Mihalinec# also ran the 400 meter dash. Puc ran 56.87 to finish seventh, Mihalinec was ninth at 57.25 and Koepke was right behind in tenth in a time of 57.42.
#Jody-Ann Coore# ran a personal best in the 60 meter hurdles for the second straight week, posting a time of 9.05 to finish fourth in the event.
#Dina Luka# improved on her own season-best time in the 5,000 meters with a time of 19:02.15, good for seventh place. It's the top time run in the event by a Maverick this season.
The MIAA Championships begin Friday, Feb. 26 at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo.
