Broadhurst Named CCHA Rookie of the Week

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - UNO freshman Terry Broadhurst has been named the CCM Rookie of the Week by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. Broadhurst scored four goals and added an assist as the Mavericks tied and beat Ohio State in a pair of games in Omaha last weekend.
On Friday, Broadhurst had a natural hat trick, the first hat trick for a UNO player in nearly three years, as the Mavericks skated to a 5-5 tie with the Buckeyes. UNO then won the shootout in seven rounds, 3-2. The next night, Broadhurst had a powerplay goal and assisted on the game-winning goal by Jeric Agosta as the Mavs downed Ohio State, 4-3.
For the season, Broadhurst has nine goals and eight assists for 17 points to lead all UNO freshmen in scoring. He's tied for seventh in scoring among CCHA rookies for all games played.
Broadhurst is the second UNO freshman to earn the honor. Brandon Richardson won the award just two weeks ago.
