Mavericks Remain in Top 20 Poll As CCHA Playoffs N

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team is ranked 20th in the latest Division I college hockey poll compiled by USCHO.com. It is the second straight week the Mavericks have been ranked. After closing out the regular season last weekend at home against then #6 Bemidji State, the Mavs will host a best-of-three, first round CCHA playoff series against Bowling Green on Friday and Saturday, March 5 and 6. If game three is necessary, it will be played on Sunday, March 7.
The Mavs actually dropped a spot this week after being ranked 19th last week by USCHO.com. They also received votes in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll for the second straight week. The Mavs dropped three spots to 20th in the lastest power rankings by InsideCollegeHockey.com.
UNO enters its playoff series with Bowling Green with a record of 18-14-6 overall and 13-12-3-2 in the CCHA. The Mavs finished in sixth place and will play the 11th seeded Falcons against whom they tied and won in October.
This will be the fifth playoff meeting between the two schools. The Mavs are 5-0 all-time against Bowling Green in the CCHA playoffs.
