Concordia Snaps UNO's Six-Game Streak

LAKELAND, Fla. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha baseball team had its six-game winning streak ended by the Concordia University, St. Paul Golden Bears Thursday at Henley Field.
The Mavericks outhit the Golden Bears 9-3 in the game, but left 11 runners on base with five of them in scoring position. UNO is now 9-2 on the year while Concordia improved to 7-8.
The game started about 10 minutes late as the grounds crew got the field ready in rainy conditions. After three scoreless innings to start play, the game featured a 20 minute rain delay. The Mavericks came out of the delay to take the game's first lead, getting a run in the bottom of the fourth from a #Travis Jacobi single that scored Brady Hohl# He reached base after being hit by a pitch.
Concordia responded with a two run fifth inning and added three more in the seventh off a bases loaded two-run single by Troy DuBay that put the game out of reach for the Mavs.
#Joe Holtmeyer# (2-1) took his first loss of the season. The right-hander allowed two runs on just one hit while striking out eight Golden Bear hitters and issuing two walks. #Mike Kubo# pitched a scoreless inning for the Mavericks and struck out one batter. He didn't allow any hits.
Concordia right-hander Andy Fagely tossed six innings of one-run ball despite giving up eight hits. Fagely didn't issue any walks in his outing.
UNO will be back in action tomorrow with a doubleheader against the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs (3-5). Game one is slated for 8:30 a.m. Both games can be heard live on Teamline.
