CANTON, Ohio- The Maverick swim team wrapped up the final day of events Saturday evening at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in the C.T. Branin Natatorium on the campus of Lock Haven University. UNO finished with 22 points for 24th place.

Sophomore #Amy Bechdolt# kicked off the night for UNO in the 1650 yard freestyle. Bechdolts swam a time of 17:50.67 for a 23rd place finish.

Junior #Cait Hopkins# finished in the top 15 in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 52.32. She also picked up an 11th place finish Thursday night in the 200 meter freestyle.

Hopkins and Bechdolt picked up a tenth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay along with teammates junior #Laura Kemp and senior Tessa Edwards# on Friday evening.

Drury University defended its national title with 657 points followed by Wayne State University with 531 and University of California, San Diego with 318.

UNO will return all but two seniors, Edwards and #Lisa Elworth#, for the 2010-11 season.
