Broadhurst Named To CCHA All-Rookie Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - UNO freshman forward #Terry Broadhurst# has been named to the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's All-Rookie Team. The announcement was made today. He's the first Maverick to earn the honor since teammate #Eddie DelGrosso# made the team following the 2006-07 season.
Broadhurst, a 21-year-old forward from Orland Park, Ill., had nine goals and nine assists for 18 points in conference play, placing him in a tie for fifth place in freshmen scoring. Broadhurst was named CCM CCHA Rookie of the Week on two occasions and tied for second in game-winning goals among rookies (2), tied for 12th overall. He was one of two freshmen to net a hat trick in CCHA play this season. Overall this season, he has 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points while playing in all 40 games, the only UNO freshman to do so. He leads the Mavs with seven powerplay goals and four game-winning goals.

Forwards: Andy Taranto (Alaska), Chris Brown (Michigan)
Defensemen: Torey Krug (Michigan State), Joe Hartman (Miami)
Goaltender: Mike Johnson (Notre Dame)
It's the first time since 1997 and just the second time ever that six different CCHA schools have had one student athlete named to the team. This is the 22nd year the league has named an all-rookie team.
UNO freshman goaltender #John Faulkner# received honorable mention. He leads the Mavericks with a record of 13-10-4, a goals-against average of 2.69 and a save percentage of .905.
In other news today, the Mavericks rose to 18th in the latest USCHO.com poll released today. That's up two spots from last week. The Mavericks also received votes in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey poll. In addition, the Mavs improved one spot to 19th in the latest InsideCollegeHockey.com power rankings.
Also, the Mavericks announced that tickets for their second round CCHA playoff series at Ferris State are on sale through the Ferris State box office. Tickets may be ordered by phone at (231) 591-2888. Fans should request to sit in the UNO section.
Ticket prices are $13 for adults, $11 for senior citizens and $9 for students K-12. The Ferris State ticket office will accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
