GRANBURY, Texas - The UNO golf team is in a tie for eleventh place after the first round of the Tarleton State Coca-Cola Classic on Monday afternoon. #Erin Ommen# shot a 76 to lead the Mavericks at the halfway point of the two-round event.
Host Tarleton State holds the lead with a first-round team score of 296. Grand Canyon University is in second, just one stroke back. Angelo State is in third at 302.
Ommen closed with a 37 over the final nine holes at the Harbor Lakes Golf Club to finish in a tie for 19th overall. She is one stroke in front of teammate #Dani Suponchick# who shot 77. Armana Christianson was third for the Mavs with a score of 82. #Abbey Weddle and Rebecca Pollock# tied for fourth in team scoring with identical scores of 84.
Georgina Dunn of Grand Canyon held the overall lead with a two-under-par score of 70 including a 34 on the front side. Andrea Martires of Newman University and Raelyn Smith of Angelo State tied for second at even par 72.
Round two of the tournament will begin on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
