OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha will offer greater savings to season ticket holders for the historic 2010-2011 hockey season. Season ticket holders will average a nearly 35% savings compared to comparable individual tickets purchased on game days. The Mavericks begin play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, the nation's premiere conference, this fall.
“We are fortunate to have a very loyal base of season ticket holders, many of whom have been with us since the beginning of the program,” said #Trev Alberts#, UNO's Director of Athletics. “We want to thank them for their support by providing them the greatest discount off individual tickets.
“At the same time, we'd like to encourage other fans who may not have had season tickets before to consider purchasing them and realize similar savings.”
The season ticket savings for each section of Qwest Center Omaha are as follows:

All season ticket renewals made on-line through omavs.com will receive a $10 discount on the handling charge.
New this year, UNO is offering new payment options. Fans may pay for their season tickets with ACH or on-line checking and savings transactions. In addition, fans may pay for season tickets with a checking or savings account, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards. UNO also is offering season ticket holders an opportunity to pay for their seats with a "half-and-half" plan or with a three-, six- or ten-month payment plan. As part of the ticket restructuring, UNO is raising the prices of individual game tickets. Center ice tickets are now $23, Lower Bowl tickets are $20 and all tickets in the Upper Mezz, Upper Bowl and Red Army sections are $17. Additionally, tickets for “Premium Games” against Wisconsin, North Dakota and Minnesota will cost an additional $2, down from the $3 premium game charge assessed in years past.
The price of all single game tickets will be the same in advance and on game days, a change from previous seasons when there was an additional charge for game-day purchases.
Youth tickets for ages three through college will be $14 for all sections. UNO students continue to receive one free ticket in the student section by showing their UNO ID at the Qwest Center box office.
“These changes show the effort we have made to streamline the ticket pricing policy for individual game tickets,” said Alberts. “While individual game ticket prices have gone up, UNO remains one of the best bargains in college hockey.”
UNO offers the third lowest average season ticket price in the WCHA at just less than $278. It also offers the second lowest season ticket package at $159 for the Red Army section. By comparison, the University of Minnesota charges $724 for each season ticket in all sections. Colorado College offers a $149 season ticket package, the only season ticket plan lower than UNO's Red Army section.
Additionally, UNO does not require a donation or personal seat licenses for purchase of its season tickets.
The schedule for the 2010-2011 UNO hockey season, the 14th in school history, will be released later this spring.
