Ommen Named MIAA's Golfer of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior #Erin Ommen# was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Student-Athlete of the Week for women's golf today. It's the first time she's earned the honor this season.
Ommen led Nebraska-Omaha in scoring by five strokes during the two-day Upper Iowa Spring Invitational, and posted the low round for UNO in round two with a 4-over par 76. The native of Omaha finished 8-over for the tournament. It was the third time in three tournaments this spring that she posted UNO's top score or tied for the top spot. Ommen finished in a tie for first overall and was declared the individual medalist.
Ommen leads UNO this season with stroke average of 78.4.
The Mavericks return to action on April 12 and 13 as they tee off at the Tartleton State/Coca-Cola Spring Invitational in Granbury, Texas. The Mavs are coming off their first win of the spring season at the Upper Iowa Spring Invitational last weekend.
