Mavs Earn No. 4 Seed in 21st Straight Trip to NCAA

INDIANAPOLIS - The Mavericks will take on West Texas A&M Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the first round of the South Central Region tournament as fourth-seeded UNO (49-11) makes its 21st straight trip to the NCAA tournament. The fifth-seeded Lady Buffs (43-16) will be making their first trip in school history.
Top-seeded Midwestern State will host UNO's half of the bracket in Wichita Falls, Texas, and the Mustangs will take on No. 8 St. Mary's in their first round game at noon. The winners will play Saturday at 11 a.m. in the semifinal and the winner will advance to Sunday's 1 p.m. final. The first round losers will play Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the winner taking on the semifinal loser at 4 p.m. for a chance to advance to Sunday's final . The championship series will begin Sunday at 1 p.m.
The other half of the South Central Region bracket will be hosted by Emporia State. Texas Women's, Angelo State and Central Oklahoma will join the Hornets in that bracket.
The winners of the two brackets will meet in a super regional, played May 21 and 22. The eight super regional winners will meet in the NCAA National Tournament from May 27-31 in St. Joseph, Mo.
