Complete 2010-11 UNO Men's Basketball Schedule
OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha men's basketball program, under the direction of head coach #Derrin Hansen#, has announced the completion of the 2010-11 season schedule, which includes 14 home games.
The slate features games against three 2010 NCAA Division II postseason-qualifying teams – Fort Hays State, Missouri Western State and Central Missouri, which played through third-round tournament action. The non-conference portion of the schedule also includes in-state match-ups with Nebraska-Kearney, Nebraska Wesleyan and Midland Lutheran College.
UNO makes its season debut at Sapp Fieldhouse on Nov. 13, facing off with Nebraska Wesleyan and Rockhurst on Nov. 16 in a two-game homestand. Two weeks later, the Mavericks will begin Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play on Dec. 1 at Washburn, later hosting their first league contest on Dec. 11 against Northwest Missouri State.
The Mavs then kick off the new year on Jan. 2 at Missouri Western and return to the Fieldhouse for a battle with Central Missouri, which topped the league standings last season with a record of 27-4 (18-2 MIAA).
Nebraska-Omaha's final game of the regular season is set for Feb. 26 against Pittsburg State, followed by the 2011 MIAA Championship at Municipal Auditorium, March 3-6, in Kansas City, Mo.
Hansen, who enters his sixth season at the helm of the Maverick program, boasts a career record of 91-59. His 2009-10 squad finished 22-9 (12-8 MIAA) and captured the conference tournament crown in only its second year of MIAA competition. Additionally, UNO qualified for the NCAA Tournament behind the on-court leadership of All-MIAA honoree #Andrew Bridger and All-America honorable mention selection Tyler Bullock#. The Mavs have posted three consecutive winning seasons from 2007 to 2010.
