Complete 2010-11 Schedule
OMAHA, Neb. – With 106 days remaining until the University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball team kicks of its 2010-11 campaign, head coach Patty Patton Shearer has released the schedule for the upcoming season.
UNO will play a total of 26 regular season games with 14 of them on its home court and 12 on the road. The Mavericks open the season with four non-conference games as the season tips off at home on Friday, November 12 against York College at 5:30 p.m.
The Mavericks open up the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association portion of their schedule on the road in Topeka, Kan. against Washburn on Wednesday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m. UNO will host Northwest Missouri State when it opens conference play at home on Saturday, December 11 at 5:30 p.m.
MIAA newcomer Lincoln University visits Sapp Fieldhouse for the first time as a conference member on Saturday, December 18 for a 5:30 p.m. contest. Reigning NCAA Division II champion Emporia State comes to town on Saturday, February 5 for a 1:30 p.m. game.
The Mavericks close out the regular season and MIAA play against Pittsburg State in a 1:30 p.m. game on February 26. The 2010-11 MIAA Women's Basketball Championship will be held at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., March 4 – 6.
Patton Shearer returns for her seventh season at UNO. She is 94-76 (.553) all-time at UNO and is 18-22 (.450) in MIAA contests. The Mavericks were 12-15 overall and finished ninth in the MIAA with a 7-13 conference mark last season.
