Nine Mavs Named to OWH's All-Nebraska Softball Tea

OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha softball team landed nine student-athletes from its 2010 roster on The World-Herald's All-Nebraska Division II softball team, including junior pitcher #Lindsey Slocum#, who was voted honorary captain and Player of the Year.
UNO and Wayne State both had five players on the all-state team. Nebraska-Kearney had three players, while Chadron State had one.
Pitcher #Beth Haley#, shortstop #Molly Feichtinger#, outfielder #Alli Hukill#, second baseman #Treightin Yates# and Slocum were all named to the all-state squad. Yates was selected to the team as a utility player.
Slocum, a first-team Daktronics and Louisville Slugger/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Division II All-America selection, was 21-3 with an ERA of 1.95 in 172 innings pitched. The left-hander also shined at the plate for UNO, hitting .371 with 73 hits, 12 home runs and a team-leading 61 RBI.

The Mavericks finished the 2010 season with a 50-13 mark to tie for the regular-season MIAA title and finished second at the conference tournament. UNO advanced to the national tournament for the 21st straight time and at one point in the season, won a school record 27-straight games.
