Mavericks Slip In Polls Following Losses to Quinni

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team dropped in both weekly college hockey polls following a pair of losses at Quinnipiac last week. The Mavericks are now ranked 12th in the latest poll by the web site USCHO.com and 10th in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll.
It's the first time in the last three months that the Mavericks have not been ranked in the top 10 in the USCHO.com poll.
UNO also dropped four spots to 11th in the latest power rankings by the web site InsideCollegeHockey.com.
UNO is now 12-7-1 overall and 9-4-1 in the WCHA, putting it in fourth place, just one point behind Denver and Minnesota Duluth who are tied for second. The Mavs lost 4-3 and 3-2 to Quinnipiac last week in a pair of non-conference games played in Hamden, Conn.
The Mavericks are one of six teams from the WCHA in the USCHO.com poll. The others are North Dakota (2), Minnesota Duluth (5), Denver (6), Wisconsin (13) and Colorado College (18).
Following a bye week this week, UNO returns to action on Jan. 14 and 15 when it hosts Bemidji State at Qwest Center Omaha. Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale at the Qwest Center box office and at Sapp Fieldhouse.
