
Mavericks Slide In Weekly Hockey Polls

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team dropped in both weekly Division I college hockey polls following a split last weekend against Alabama-Huntsville. The Mavericks are now ranked 18th in the lastest poll conducted by the web site USCHO.com, and they received votes but are not ranked in the top 15 teams ranked by USA Today/USA Hockey.
The Mavs dropped from 15th where they were ranked in both polls last week.
The Mavericks are also ranked 19th in the latest power rankings from the web site InsideCollegeHockey.com, a drop of four spots from last week.
UNO beat Alabama-Huntsville, 4-0, in the opener of their series on Friday but dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Chargers the following night.
Boston College took over the top spot after Yale dropped two games last weekend. The WCHA has six teams ranked in the top 20 including Denver (2), Minnesota Duluth (4), North Dakota (5), Wisconsin (7), UNO and Colorado College (20).
The Mavericks return to WCHA action this week when they host St. Cloud State in the middle series of a six-game home stand. The two teams will square off on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7:37 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7:07 p.m.
