Archibald Makes Cut For Team USA

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNO freshman forward Josh Archibald was one of 22 players named to the final roster for the U.S. National Junior Team which will compete in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship next week in Alberta, Canada.
Archibald was a late invite to the tryout camp in Camrose, Alberta. Through two pretournament exhibition games, he has scored a goal and earned an assist. The U.S. will finish its exhibition slate on Friday when it plays Slovakia in Three Hills, Alberta.
"Having been behind the bench when we won the gold medal two years ago, I can't wait to get started again," said Dean Blais, UNO's head coach and the head coach of the U.S. National Junior Team. "This is an incredible group of players whose speed and tenacity should help us succeed in Edmonton and Calgary."
Team USA begins play in the World Junior Championship on Monday, Dec. 26 when it faces Denmark at 7 p.m. CT in Edmonton, Alberta.
The U.S. will look to earn its third straight medal after capturing the bronze medal at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, N.Y., and the gold medal at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatoon, Sask.
