Mavericks Move Up to No. 8 Nationally

OMAHA, Neb. - Following a 4-0 weekend, the UNO softball team moved up one spot to No. 8 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll released on Wednesday.
The Mavericks received 255 votes after sweeping Colorado at Colorado Springs in a four-game series last Saturday and Sunday.
The top two teams in the season-opening poll, Valdosta State and North Georgia, remained in their respective positions following undefeated weekends. Hawaii Pacific fell from third to fourth after a 4-2 opening week.
Angelo State jumped up five spots into the No. 3 position after a 9-0 opening week. UNO will face Angelo State at the Southeastern Oklahoma Invitational this Friday at 10 a.m. The Mavericks will play a total of six games in Durant, Okla., this weekend.
