Hockey Playoff Tickets On Sale Wednesday

OMAHA, Neb. - Tickets for the UNO Mavericks' first-round WCHA playoff series will go on sale on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Qwest Center box office, the Sapp Fieldhouse box office and on-line through OmahasTeam.com and Ticketmaster.com.
The first round, which is a best-of-three series, will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if necessary, March 11-13. Friday's game will start at 7:37 p.m. and Saturday's contest starts at 7:07 p.m. Sunday's game, if needed, also will start at 7:07 p.m.
Tickets for the first round of the playoffs are $23 for center ice, $20 for the lower bowl, $17 for the upper bowl and $5 for student tickets.
The winner of the series advances to the Red Barron WCHA Final Five in St. Paul, Minn. the following weekend.
UNO earned home ice following a split of two games at Alaska Anchorage last weekend. In doing so, the Mavericks held steady in this week's Division I hockey polls. The Mavericks remained in 12th place in the latest poll released by USA Today/USA Hockey and moved up one spot to 12th in the latest USCHO.com poll.
The Mavericks also stayed at 13 in the latest power rankings from the web site InsideCollegeHockey.com.
North Dakota moved up one spot to take over first place in both polls. The Fighting Sioux are one of seven WCHA ranked in the top 20 by USCHO.com. The others include Denver (6), Minnesota Duluth (7), Wisconsin (13), Colorado College (19) and Minnesota (20). USA Today ranks only the top 15 teams.
The Mavericks host their final home series of the regular season when they welcome Denver on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26. Tickets for both games are on sale at the Qwest Center and Sapp Fieldhouse and on-line at OmahasTeam.com.
