Five Mavs Earn All-Tournament Honors

Five UNO softball players were named to the South Central Shootout All-Tournament team on Wednesday, following an evaluation of statistics from last weekend's tournament by the tournament committee.
#Katelyn Hinton#, #Lauren Larson#, #Molly Feichtinger#, #Lindsey Slocum and Dana Elsasser# were named to the all-tournament team, as the five UNO selections tied for the most among all teams in the tournament.
Larson led the Mavs, who went 5-1 in their six games, with a .471 batting average, including a double, a home run and a tie for the team lead with five RBI. Feichtinger went .444 at the plate with a triple. Hinton had a team-high .833 slugging percentage, including three home runs and five RBI.
Slocum and Elsasser each went 2-0 in the circle for UNO on the weekend. Slocum allowed zero runs in 14 innings pitched, while Elsasser recorded a 0.60 ERA in 15 innings pitched. Slocum also had a home run for the Mavs.
In other softball news, the Mavericks maintained their No. 8 ranking in the NFCA Top 25 poll released on Wednesday. UNO went 5-1 last week to move to 9-1 overall. The Mavs' only loss came against then-No. 3 Angelo State, who moved up to second in the most recent poll.
