Pohl Earns All-MIAA Honorable Mention

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO women's basketball's leading scorer, #Heather Pohl#, earned All-MIAA honorable mention, the conference office announced in its awards release on Tuesday.
Pohl finished the season averaging 17.2 points per game, which ranked fourth in the MIAA. She also ranked eighth in the conference in field goal percentage at 41.7 percent, eighth in three-point percentage at 35.2 percent and third in free throw percentage at 84.3 percent. Pohl was fourth in three-pointers made with 62.
The junior from Millard West led the Mavs in scoring in 18 of 26 games in 2010-11, including in 14 of the last 16 games of the season. She has hit 113 career three-pointers, which places her seventh in school history, just six behind Cayla Hargrove for sixth place.
Northwest Missouri State's Gabby Curtis was named the MIAA Player of the Year. Curtis was second in the conference in scoring at 18.2 points per game. The Bearcats' Gene Steinmeyer was named Coach of the Year.
All awards were voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.
