Mavericks Move Up in Polls After Wins Over St. Clo

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team moved up the 16th in the latest Division I college hockey poll released by the web site, USCHO.com. The move comes on the heels of 3-0 and 4-3 wins over St. Cloud State last weekend at Qwest Center Omaha.

The Mavericks are not one of the top 15 teams ranked in the weekly poll released by USA Today and USA Hockey. They are the top team among others receiving votes. The USCHO.com poll ranks the top 20 teams in the country.

UNO also moved up three positions to 16th in the latest power rankings from the web site InsideCollegeHockey.com.

Again this week, the Mavericks are one of six teams from the WCHA in the top 20. The others include Minnesota Duluth (3), Denver (4), North Dakota (5), Wisconsin (7) and Colorado College (19).

UNO returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12 when they conclude their six-game home stand against Wisconsin. Tickets are on sale all week at the Qwest Center, UNO's Sapp Fieldhouse and on-line at omahasteam.com.
