OMAHA, Neb. – UNO hockey fans in the greater Omaha area will be able to watch the Mavericks take on Michigan in the NCAA Playoffs. Cox Communications will show the ESPN-produced broadcast of the game live on channel 2 beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
“We're excited that Cox, one of our valued corporate partners, is able to offer Friday's game to our fans,” said #Trev Alberts#, UNO's Director of Athletics. “For those fans who can't make the trip to the regional, this will allow them to enjoy all the action and hopefully, a Maverick win.”
Customers with Cox High Speed Internet also will be able to watch the game on-line through ESPN3.com at no additional charge.
The Mavericks are making their second-ever appearance in the NCAA Playoffs this weekend at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis where they'll face Michigan, a former conference foe in the CCHA. The two teams have already played twice this season with each team winning a game at Michigan's Yost Ice Arena back in October.
Tickets for the game are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com. For those fans who cannot make it to St. Louis for the game, there will be watch parties at Aksarben Cinema and at Old Chicago at 78th and Cass Streets in Omaha. Both begin at 3;30 p.m.
