UNO Hockey Season Tickets On Sale Tuesday

OMAHA, Neb. – Fresh off their second appearance in the NCAA Playoffs, the UNO Mavericks announced today that season tickets for the 2011-12 hockey season will go on sale on Tuesday, April 19 at 10 a.m. Tickets may be purchased through the UNO athletics ticket office in the Sapp Fieldhouse or by phone at (402) 554-2001.
The Mavericks continue to make purchasing season tickets affordable for everyone. They offer several flexible payment plans including a 10-month plan that allows season ticket holders to pay for their seats in 10 monthly installments. There are also three-month, six-month, half and half and deferred payment plans. Fans must enroll in any payment plans by May 12.
“The support we've received from fans in Omaha has been outstanding, and it continues to grow,” said Trev Alberts, UNO's Director of Athletics. “Last year, we averaged almost 8,000 fans per game, our highest average attendance since our first year in the Qwest Center.
“We think that number can continue to grow as more fans discover the excitement of UNO hockey and the great competition in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.”
The Mavericks are coming off one of the best seasons in school history. They finished with a record of 21-16-2, matching the second-highest win total in school history. The Mavs also went 17-9-2 in their first season in the WCHA, finishing in third place during the regular season. It was their highest conference finish in school history. UNO has now put together back-to-back 20-win seasons under head coach Dean Blais. It is just the second time the Mavericks have accomplished that feat.
UNO also made its second-ever appearance in the NCAA tournament, losing in overtime in the regional semifinals to Michigan.
Season ticket holders continue to enjoy significant savings compared to the cost of purchasing individual game tickets. Fans can save up to $203 when purchasing season tickets instead of purchasing tickets individually.
In addition, single-game ticket prices will remain the same: Center Ice - $23; Lower Bowl - $20; Upper Mezz, Upper Bowl and Red Army - $17. Single-game tickets for premium games (all games after Jan. 1) will cost an additional $2.
UNO will announce the 2011-12 schedule later this spring.
