Bryan Clay Invitational Results
ASUZA, Calif. - Senior Heather Minssen set the second-best school mark in the discus as the UNO track and field team ventured to the West Coast for the Bryan Clay Invitational at Asuza Pacific University. It was one of two meets for the Mavericks on Friday.
Minssen threw 152-11 in the discus, shattering her personal best in the event by almost 20 feet. The mark ranks seventh in the nation in the discus.
Also at Asuza Pacific, Maja Mihalinec tied for 19th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.43, and Jody-Ann Coore was 16th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.46.
In other action today, Sami Spenner took fifth place at the Emporia State Combined Multis. Spenner moved up one place from sixth place after the first day of competition, finishing the heptathlon with a total score of 4,358.
Spenner posted a long jump of 17-4 and a javelin throw of 87-1. She finished the day with a time of 2:34.6 in the 800 meters.
On Saturday, the Mavericks will take part in the Concordia Invitation in Seward, Neb. and the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State in California.
