Mavs Sweep MIAA Weekly Awards For Second Straight

The sweep of the awards marked the second week in a row UNO has picked up both honors and the third time in the last four weeks. Haley has now been honored three out of the past four weeks, while Feichtinger became the fourth different Maverick to be named Hitter of the Week this year, all four coming in the last four weeks.
Feichtinger hit a team-best .526 in six wins last week for the Mavericks. Batting in the No. 2 spot in every game last week, Feichtinger recorded a .632 slugging percentage, as she went 10-for-19 at the plate with two doubles, three runs scored and two RBIs. She also walked once for an on-base percentage of.550. Feichtinger had a pair of 3-for-3 games on the week, one against Wayne State and one against Missouri Southern. She also went 3-for-4 against Pittsburg State. For the season, Feichtinger has a team-leading .441 batting average.
Haley threw three shutouts in three starts last week to pick up a 3-0 record and improve to 12-3 on the season. She threw 19 innings of shutout softball and has gone five straight games without allowing an earned run.Against Wayne State on Wednesday, Haley allowed just one hit in lifting the Mavericks to a 2-0 win. On Friday, she started off the Missouri Southern series with a shutout win, going the distance with nine strikeouts while allowing five hits and two walks. On Saturday, Haley allowed four hits while striking out five in a five-inning shutout win over Pittsburg State. For the week, she struck out 17 and walked seven while allowing 10 hits, including only one extra-base hit. Haley has allowed just two earned runs in her last 66.2 innings pitched and has won nine straight starts.
