Six Mavs Placed on OWH All-Nebraska Team

OMAHA, Neb. - Six UNO Maverick softball players were named to the Omaha World-Herald's All-Nebraska Division II Softball Team, the newspaper announced this week. Beth Haley led the way as the honorary captain.
Lindsey Slocum, Lauren Larson, Ashley Lynch, Molly Feichtinger and Katelyn Hinton also earned spots on the team, which honors the top players at each position on Division II softball teams in Nebraska. Haley, Feichtinger and Slocum are all repeat honorees.
Sarah Elliott, Alli Hukill and Amber Lutmer all received honorable mention. In addition, incoming UNO junior college transfer Ashton Hughes was named the all-junior college team honorary captain. Hughes went 30-6 at Western Nebraska Community College with a 2.30 ERA last season.
Haley earned the captain honor following a stellar senior season in which she went 22-5 with a 1.06 ERA. She was named a second-team All-American and the MIAA Pitcher of the Year following her season. Fellow senior Slocum, the reigning OWH honorary captain, was a first-team All-American, while Larson was the MIAA defensive player of the year.
UNO's six players on the squad were the most of any school. Wayne State had three, while Chadron State and UNK each had two.
