Mavericks Host First Red/Black Scrimmage

OMAHA, Neb. -- The UNO volleyball team hosts the first of four Red/Black scrimmages of the season on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Sapp Fieldhouse. The event will begin at 4 p.m. and is free to the public.
Immediately following its team scrimmage, the 2011 Mavericks will square off against a squad of UNO alumnae, which will include a multitude of all-conference selections and All-Americans.
The Mavs compiled a record of 17-15 last year and return 10 letterwinners for 2011. UNO opens regular-season play and begins competition as a Division I competitor at the Bradley Tournament, Aug. 26-27, in Peoria, Ill.
