Fohr Departs Mavs For National Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - UNO Director of Hockey Operations Nick Fohr will move back behind the bench this fall as a new assistant coach for USA Hockey's National Under-17 Team.
"Very few people get the opportunity to represent their country on such a large stage," said Fohr. "I'm extremely excited and look forward to getting started right away."
Fohr departs UNO after seven seasons, the most recent spent as the Director of Hockey Operations. He served in the same capacity from 2004-07 before working as an assistant coach for two seasons under Mike Kemp (2007-09) and one under Dean Blais (2009-10). Fohr was also an undergraduate assistant during the 2002-03 season.
“Nick is highly regarded and will be a terrific addition to our coaching staff,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations at the National Team Development Program. "He brings the energy, commitment and experience needed to help our players reach their full potential."
Fohr was a four-year letter winner for the Mavericks (1998-2002). He was a CCHA Scholar Athlete in 2000.
