
Mavs Team Up With Hope Center for Kids

Members of the UNO women's basketball team spent two hours this week tutoring and playing basketball with children at the Hope Center for Kids in Omaha.
Carly Cator, Cathleen Cox, Paige Frauendorfer, Sherece Huddlin, Kelsie Lliteras, Jessica Zaruba and the Maverick coaches participated in the event.
The Hope Center for Kids is an afternoon program and tutoring center for underprivileged children and young adults. The Mavs worked with students in 4th grade and through 12 years old on homework, including writing, math, reading and computer skills. The team also spoke with students in individual and small group settings. Following the classroom session, the Mavs taught the children basic basketball exercises in the gym.
