Mavericks Crack National Hockey Poll

OMAHA,, Neb. - For the first time this season, the Omaha hockey team is ranked in the national polls. The Mavericks are 18th in the latest rankings from the web site USCHO.com, one of two major polls that ranks college hockey.
The Mavericks have received votes in the USCHO.com poll for the last four weeks before cracking the top 20. They also are receiving votes in the latest poll put out by USA Today and USA Hockey Magazine.
UNO is coming off its second straight weekend sweep after beating Minnesota Duluth, 3-2 and 6-3 at home. The Mavs have now won four in a row, their longest winning streak since February of 2011. They are 6-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the WCHA, good for second place, just a point behind league-leading Denver.
The Mavericks are off until Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24 when they host Alabama-Huntsville in a non-conference series. Friday's game starts at 7:37 p.m., and Saturday's game begins at 7:07 p.m. at the CenturyLink Center. Tickets for these and all Maverick home games are on sale at the CenturyLink Center box office, the Sapp Fieldhouse box office on the UNO campus and through OmahasTeam.com.
