Polls Are In: Mavericks Move In, Up

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha hockey team didn't play a game last weekend, but that didn't keep it from moving up in one college hockey poll and earning its first ranking in another.
The Mavericks are ranked 15th in the lastest poll from the website USCHO.com, their second straight week in that site's top 20 rankings. The Mavs also made their debut in the latest top 15 poll from USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine, coming in 14th.
UNO has not been ranked in both polls since October of 2011.
Following a bye week, the Mavericks return to action on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23 and 24 when they host Alabama-Huntsville in a non-conference series at the CenturyLink Center. The Mavs have not played since sweeping a home series with Minnesota Duluth on Nov. 10 and 11.
UNO is 6-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, good for third place. The Mavs have won four straight games for the first time since the 2010-11 season.
Tickets for the Alabama-Huntsville series and all home games are on sale at the CenturyLink Center box office, the Sapp Fieldhouse box office on the UNO campus and through Ticketmaster. Tickets may be purchased online at OmahasTeam.com.
