The Omaha women's basketball team continues its eight-game home stretch with a pair of games at the Sapp Fieldhouse this week. On Wednesday, the Mavs face Saint Louis at 2 p.m. After celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, the Mavs host Division II foe Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday at 2 p.m. A live webcast by America One will be available for purchase at OMavs.com. The Teams
The Mavs enter Wednesday's game with a 3-0 record. Omaha has scored 79 points in consecutive games, by far the most its scored against Division I opponents since its transition. The Mavs' three-game winning streak is its longest since a four-game winning streak from Dec. 1-10, 2011.
Saint Louis enters with an 0-3 record after three road losses at Missouri, Kansas City and No. 11 Oklahoma. Although the Billikens have failed to win a game in three tries under first-year coach Lisa Stone, Saint Louis has four starters and nine letterwinners back from last year's team.
Southwest Minnesota State is 1-3 and is coming off its first win of the season, a 59-56 victory over Missouri Valley on Nov. 17. Prior to that, the Mustangs had a rough go against three teams from the Mavs' former conference, the MIAA. SMSU lost to Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern and Northwest Missouri State by an average margin of 34 points.
Series History
Saint Louis leads the all-time series, 1-0, but this will be the first meeting between the teams at the Sapp Fieldhouse. The Billikens earned an 81-54 win over the Mavs in St. Louis last Jan. 3, 2012. It matched the most points UNO allowed in a game last season.
Southwest Minnesota State leads the series over UNO, 3-2, but the Mavericks won the only game played at the Sapp Fieldhouse, which was the last meeting between the teams on Jan. 9, 2007. UNO earned a 78-66 win.
Last Time Out
It took two overtimes, but the Mavs earned a 79-75 win over Northern Arizona on Sunday afternoon at Sapp Fieldhouse. The Mavericks improved to 3-0 to start the season for the first time since 2007-08. UNO didn't trail in the game until 3:49 remained in the first overtime, when the Lumberjacks ended the Mavs' streak of 106:49 without trailing. But the Mavericks didn't panic and reclaimed the lead for good just seconds into the second overtime period. Jamie Nash led three Mavericks who had double-doubles with 22 points and 11 assists. Paige Frauendorfer had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Carolyn Blair-Mobley had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Courtney Webb checks in with 11.0 points per game and a team-high six 3-pointers. Jacy Bradley averages 7.7 points, ranks second on the team in rebounding (4.7 rpg) and tops the Bills with 12 assists and five steals. Mallory Eggert averages 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds. The Billikens are +3.0 in rebounding margin and are shooting 81.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Scouting Southwest Minnesota State
Bree Holleman paces the Mustangs with 16.0 ppg. Aside from Holleman, four Mustangs average between 5.3 and 7.3 ppg, led by Rebekah Rolling's 7.3 ppg and Annessa Rosch's 7.0 ppg off the bench. The Mustangs have been outrebounded by a -12.2 margin through four games. Seven different Mustangs have started at least one game in their first four.
Frauendorfer Named Summit League Player of the Week
Senior guard Paige Frauendorfer was named Summit League Player of the Week on Monday for her performance during the week of Nov. 12-18. Frauendorfer led the Mavericks to three home wins last week for the Mavs' first 3-0 start since 2007-08. She averaged 16.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, and she shot 60.0 percent (21-of-35) from the floor over the three games. Frauendorfer is the first UNO women's basketball player to receive the honor.
