The Omaha women's basketball team returns home on Friday to host NAIA Division II No. 25 College of St. Mary at the Sapp Fieldhouse at Noon. Friday's game will be the Mavs' 10th non-conference game before Summit League play begins next weekend. UNO still has two non-conference games left on the slate in mid-January. College of St. Mary will be making the trip from just a mile down the road and will be playing the game as an exhibition.
The Teams
Omaha is 7-2 after a 67-63 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday, the Mavs' first road game this season. Chance Lindley is in his second year as the head coach of the Mavericks with a career record of 22-14. He is assisted by Rebecca Alvidrez, Brittany Lange and Jesyka Burks-Wiley.
College of St. Mary is ranked 25th in NAIA Division II. The Flames (10-4) are coming off a 77-55 win over California-Merced on Monday night. Chuck Brewer is in his fifth season as the head coach at CSM and has a record of 62-74, though the Flames were 22-11 last year and reached the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament for the first time since 2005-06. He is assisted by Terra Moyers and Terry Schrank.

UNO leads the series, 25-1, and holds a 24-1 record in games played at the Sapp Fieldhouse. The Mavericks beat the Flames last season on Dec. 7, 88-49. Ironically, former Maverick Amanda Woodring, who transferred to CSM following last season, hit a school-record eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 24 points in the win last year. Jamie Nash added 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. College of St. Mary's lone win over the Mavericks came in 1975.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Jamie Nash hit the go-ahead basket with 36 seconds left, and the Mavericks rebounded from a slow start to defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 67-63, Monday night at H.O. Clemmons Arena. The Mavericks (7-2) fell behind 14-4 in the opening 8:06 of their first road game of the season and trailed by as many as 11 in the first half before entering the halftime break down 35-26. But behind 66.7-percent shooting in the second half, the Mavs rallied for the four-point win over the Lady Lions (2-6). Paige Frauendorfer led the way with 18 points on 8-of-15 from the floor and 2-of-3 from 3-point range. Ericka House had 15 points.

• Theresa Elworth leads the Flames in scoring with 18.6 points per game. Elworth is shooting 43.2 percent from the floor. She put up 35 on Dec. 13 against Buena Vista and has scored 20 or more points six times in 14 games this season.
• Tiffany Anzalone chips in 15.5 points per game and has hit 45-of-128 (35.2 percent) from 3-point range.
• Two former UNO players are members of the CSM squad. Jessica Zaruba has started every game after transferring after last season and is scoring 11.4 ppg and leads the team with 5.9 assists per game. She also ranks second on the team with 37 steals. Amanda Woodring also transferred after last season and started the first seven games this season, averaging 8.9 ppg. She has not played since Nov. 20 because of an injury though.

In addition to chasing 1,000 career points, senior guard Jamie Nash has a few school records in her sights in her final season at UNO. The Verona, Mo., native has 303 career steals, placing her second in school history. Kriss Edwards (1977-81) holds the school record of 331 steals. Nash has 440 career assists, ranking her third in school history. Jennifer Mitchell (1998-2002) holds the school record of 474 assists.
Kelly Joins Group of School's Top Shot Blockers
Sophomore center Taijhe Kelly has already established herself as one of the top shot blockers to ever put on a UNO jersey. Kelly swatted 43 shots as a freshman, which ranked as the seventh-highest single-season total in school history, and she has blocked 18 shots this season, giving her 61 career blocks to rank seventh in school history. Mary Henke Anderson is the school-record holder with 291 career blocks, an average of 72.8 per season.
House Shows Her Range
Junior college transfer Ericka House has found her comfort zone at Omaha, and it's just behind the 3-point line. House has hit 21-of-61 (34.4 percent) from long distance and is averaging 9.8 points per game. The record holder for most threes made in a junior college game, House ranks second in The Summit League with 2.2 treys made per game. She has hit at least three 3-pointers in four games this season and hit a career-best five in a Nov. 16 win over Louisiana.
