Mavs Are 14 in Both Weekly Hockey Polls

USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll
OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team is ranked 14th in both weekly hockey polls released today.
This is the third straight week the Mavericks have been ranked 14th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. The Mavs fell one spot to 14 in this week's poll from the website USCHO.com where the Mavs have spent four straight weeks.
UNO is coming off a split of two games at current No. 4/5 Minnesota last week. The Mavericks extended their winning streak to seven games with a 3-2 win on Friday night, but they fell by the same score on Saturday night, their first loss since Oct. 27.
New Hampshire is ranked first in both polls this week while previous No. 1, Boston College, fell two second following the split of a home-and-home series with No. 7 Boston University last weekend. Miami is ranked third. In all, four WCHA teams are ranked in USA Today/USA Magazine's top 15 poll - Minnesota (5), Denver (6), North Dakota (9) and Omaha (14). St. Cloud State (17) and Colorado College (19) also are ranked in USCHO.com's top 20 poll.
The Mavericks are now 9-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the WCHA, good for fourth place, one point behind Minnesota and St. Cloud State who are tied for second.
UNO continues a four-game road trip this weekend when it visits No. 17 St. Cloud State on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8.
