
Six Mavs Named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes

OMAHA, Neb. - Six members of the 2012 UNO softball team have been named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes.
Kat Barrow, Molly Feichtinger, Mollie Jones, Lauren Larson, Amber Lutmer and Molly Negrete all received the honor.
Barrow, a sophomore this year, highlighted the group with a cumulative 3.82 GPA majoring in biology in her first year as a Mav. Negrete holds a cumulative 3.62 GPA in elementary education entering her senior season after posting a 3.93 GPA in the spring, and Lutmer enters her junior campaign with a cumulative 3.37 GPA after a 3.67 GPA and 3.60 GPA last fall and spring, respectively, majoring in community health.
Three players who were on last year's team but have finished their careers were also honored. Larson finished with a 3.63 GPA in secondary education; Jones posted a 3.56 GPA majoring in physical education after a 3.95 GPA in the spring, and Feichtinger held a 3.45 cumulative GPA in general studies after finishing strong with a 4.0 GPA in the spring.
The award is bestowed upon any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.
