Mavs and Huskers Moved to Lincoln at 5 p.m.
Mar 20, 2012 | General, Softball
The UNO Maverick softball team will have to wait a little longer to open play at its new ballpark.
Because of heavy rain in the Omaha area, Tuesday's scheduled home opener against Nebraska has been moved to Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Lincoln at Bowlin Stadium.
As part of the schedule adjustment, Nebraska will now make a return trip to Omaha to face the Mavericks on April 18 at 6 p.m.
The Mavs and Huskers will be meeting for the first time in 30 years and for the first time ever as Division I opponents in any sport when the two teams take the field in Lincoln Tuesday evening.
UNO's first games at the brand new Westside Field at Westbrook will now be a doubleheader against Nebraska-Kearney on Wednesday, March 28 at 1 p.m.
