Albers Named Independent All-League

OMAHA, Neb. – Senior guard Mitch Albers has been named to the 2012 Independent All-Conference Team by CollegeHoops.net, it was announced recently.
Albers was named to the first team after averaging a team-leading 18.3 points per game in his final season. The Papillion, Neb., native shot .485 (188-388) from the floor and .785 (113-144) from the free throw line, while also ranking second on the team with 43 threes made. Albers consistently ranked in the top 35 nationally in scoring, and he finished his Maverick career at No. 2 on the school scoring charts with 1,790 points.
Earlier this month, Albers was also named to the 2012 Independent All-Conference Team by College Sports Madness.
Nebraska Omaha, which is in its first year of reclassifying to NCAA Division I, completed the 2011-12 season with an overall record of 11-18.
