Lutmer, Elsasser Earn Weekly GWC Honors

For the second time this year, Dana Elsasser has been named Great West Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Sophomore Amber Lutmer shared Co-Player of the Week honors with Utah Valley's Amanda Robinson.
The pitching honor went to Elsasser after she led UNO to an 11-0 win over South Dakota and a 1-0 win over Peru State. In the two complete-game shutouts, the sophomore from Hershey, Neb., allowed a total of four hits and one walk in her two starts, striking out 10 and limiting the opponents to a .105 batting average.
Lutmer earned the second weekly honor of her career and first this season after hitting back-to-back grand slams in an 11-0 win over South Dakota last week, tying the school record with eight RBI in a single game. The sophomore designated player from Omaha, Neb., has hit five home runs and has 14 RBI in her last five games. For the week, Lutmer hit .333 with a 1.333 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage.
UNO plays a doubleheader at Sioux Falls on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
