FREMONT, Neb. - Three Mavericks shot 78 to lead the UNO men's golf team to third place at the Midland Invitational on Monday. It ws the final event of the season for the Mavs in their return to men's golf action for the first time in decades.
UNO posted a team score of 313 in the one-round tournament. Southeast Community College won with a score of 308, one stroke ahead of the Morningside JV team.
Karl Krieser, Taylor Sidzyik and Michael Shukis all fired 78s. Krieser and Sidzyik were 39 on both the front and back of the 6,532-yard layout. Shukis went out in 38 and closed with a 40. All three tied for 11th place overall. Alex Holtan was one stroke back, putting him a tie for 18th in the 79-player field. Mitch Johnson rounded out the UNO scoring with a score of 88.
