McCord Signs With Brewers

OMAHA, Neb. - Former Nebraska Omaha catcher Colby McCord has signed a free-agent contract with the Milwaukee Brewers and will report to the organization's rookie-level affiliate, the Arizona League Brewers, in Phoenix this week.
As a senior in 2012, McCord hit a team-high .366 with three home runs, 20 RBIs and team-highs 27 runs scored and 18 doubles. He also posted the Mavs' top slugging percentage (.535) and on-base percentage (.435). For his efforts, he was named to the College Sports Madness All-Independent First Team.
A 5-11, 190-pound native of Papillion, Neb., McCord finished his career ranked ninth in school history for career games played (163) and 11th in doubles (33). He posted a career .324 average with nine homers and 77 RBIs.
