LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Sophie Peters shot a 77 on Sunday to lead the Omaha women's golf team to a tie for third after the first round of the Concordia Invitational.
The Mavericks are tied with host Concordia St. Paul with a team score of 319. Augustana leads with a score of 305 followed by Grand Valley State at 316.
Peters' score is good for a tie for fifth in the 16-team, 83-player tournament. Britany Seda is second for the Mavs and tied for 19th overall after carding an 80 in round one. That put her one stroke ahead of teammates Melyssa Doerr and Elizabeth Havekost who both shot 81. Brooke Thilges was fifth for the Mavs with an 82.
The teams will play the final round tomorrow at the Tartan Park Golf Course beginning at 9 a.m.
