LAKE ELMO, Minn. - Mitch Johnson shot his second straight round of 74 to lead the Omaha men's golf team to a win at the Concordia Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks finished with a team score of 601 over two rounds at the Tartan Park Golf Course. They edged Augustana which finished at 604. Minot State was third at 610.
Johnson finished the tournament at four-over-par 148 to tie for second overeall. Minot State's Kowan O'Keefe was the individual medalist with a score of 143.
Alex Overfelt was second for UNO with a two-day score of 150 after shooting 77 on Monday. He finished in a tie for 12th. Taylor Sidzyik was third for the Mavs and in a tie for 15th overall with a score of 153. He shot 75 in round two.
Mike Muller had 78 for a two-round total of 155 to finish fourth for the Mavs and in a tie for 24th among the 61 golfers in the tournament. Karl Krieser was fifth for the Mavs with a 36-hole score of 156. He shot 83 in round two.
The Mavericks are back in action at the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational on Sept. 30 - Oct. 1 at South Dakota State.
