The Omaha women's basketball team will play its final two non-conference games this week on the road. On Thursday UNO will face Chicago State at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday the Mavs will play Indiana Dabney at 1 p.m. Streaming webcast, audio and live stats links are available at OMavs.com for Thursday's game at Chicago State. There will be no media coverage for the Indiana Dabney game on Saturday.
The Teams
Omaha (11-5, 3-3) is coming off a pair of Summit League losses on the road last week. The Mavs let a second-half lead slip away in a 60-49 loss at IUPUI on Thursday, then trailed from the get-go in a 71-44 loss at Western Illinois on Saturday.
Chicago State (1-16, 0-1 GWC) has struggled so far this season. Its only win came on Nov. 16 against Indiana Northwest, 67-44. Since then the Cougars have lost 14 straight, the last four by an average of 38.3 points per game.
Indiana Dabney has no statistics or results available. Indiana Dabney is an independent school in its first year of competition. IDU is located in Hammond, Ind., just outside Chicago, and plays mostly NAIA opponents. The Lions have just six players on their roster.

MACOMB, Ill. - The Mavericks suffered a 71-44 defeat at Western Illinois last Saturday. The loss was the second straight on the road for the Mavericks and dropped them to 11-5 overall and 3-3 in The Summit League. The Leathernecks improved to 9-7 overall and 2-2 in conference play while extending their record at home to 7-0 this season. Carolyn Blair-Mobley led all scorers with 20 points and had a game-high nine rebounds.

Senior point guard Jamie Nash became the all-time career assists leader at UNO with seven assists against IPFW in a 60-50 win over the Mastodons at the Sapp Fieldhouse on Jan. 5. Her seven assists propelled her to 475 for her career, one more than the previous record set by Jennifer Mitchell from 1998-2002, and she is now up to 485. The Verona, Mo., native enters this week's games with 328 career steals, three behind the school record of 331, set by Kriss Edwards from 1977-81.
Nash, Frauendorfer Closing in on 1,000 Career Points
Seniors Jamie Nash and Paige Frauendorfer are both closing in on 1,000 career points. Nash ranks 24th in school history with 993 career points, while Frauendorfer ranks 25th with 968 career points. Twenty-three Mavericks are members of the 1,000-point club.
Mavs Named ESPN.com's National “Team of the Weekend”
ESPN.com named the Omaha women's basketball team its national “Team of the Weekend” on Jan. 7 following its home sweep of Oakland and Fort Wayne. ESPN.com writer Graham Hays wrote about the Mavericks: “A team for which the schedule a season ago included York, Briar Cliff, Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western and Dallas Christian (and which went a modest 15-12 against that schedule) is 11-3 this season, and 9-3 against Division I opponents, after improving to 3-1 in the Summit League with wins last week against Oakland and IPFW...The senior trio of Paige Frauendorfer, Carolyn Blair-Mobley and Jamie Nash are getting it done in the early days of the program's Division I era (the Mavericks beat just two Division I teams last season, their first as a transitional member).”
Frauendorfer Earns Second Summit League Player of the Week Honor
For the second time this season, senior guard Paige Frauendorfer was named Summit League Player of the Week on Jan. 7. Frauendorfer recorded two double-doubles in a pair of Omaha league wins against Oakland and Fort Wayne. In a 59-41 win over Oakland on Jan. 3, the senior guard had 16 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Against Fort Wayne on Jan. 5, she scored a season-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season in the 60-50 win. She scored five straight points in a span of 1:03 late in the game to turn a 51-50 lead into a 56-50 advantage. For the week, Frauendorfer averaged 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game. She also shot 44 percent (15-of-34) from the field and 73 percent (8-of-11) from the free throw line. Frauendorfer is the second Summit League women's basketball player to earn multiple honors so far this season.
Kelly Joins Group of School's Top Shot Blockers
Sophomore center Taijhe Kelly has already established herself as one of the top shot blockers to ever put on a UNO jersey. Kelly swatted 43 shots as a freshman, which ranked as the seventh-highest single-season total in school history, and she has blocked 28 shots this season, giving her 71 career blocks to rank seventh in school history. Mary Henke Anderson is the school-record holder with 291 career blocks, an average of 72.8 per season.
