Mavericks 14th in Latest Hockey Polls

USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll
OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha hockey team is 14th in the latest Division I college hockey polls put out by the website USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.
The Mavericks maintained their spot in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll while they dropped one spot in the USCHO.com poll. UNO has been ranked in both polls for 10 straight weeks.
Minnesota comes in first in both polls for the fifth straight week followed by Quinnipiac. Miami is third in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll and New Hampshire is fourth. Those two teams are in the reverse order in the USCHO.com poll. Boston College rounds out the top five in both polls.
The other WCHA teams appearing the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top-15 poll include North Dakota (8), Denver (10), St. Cloud State (13) and Minnesota State (15). North Dakota is ranked seventh in the USCHO.com top-20 poll while Denver (10), St. Cloud State (12), Minnesota State (15) and Wisconsin (19) also are ranked.
The Mavericks are coming off their fifth series sweep and second on the road after 5-3 and 2-1 wins at Bemidji State last weekend. UNO is now 15-9-2 overall and 11-5-2 in the WCHA, putting it in a tie with Minnesota for second, one point back of league-leading St. Cloud State.
The Mavs return home this weekend to host Michigan Tech on Friday, Feb. 1 at 7:37 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 2 at 7:07 p.m. Friday's game will be broadcast statewide on NET-1 and NET HD.
