Frauendorfer Named to Capital One Academic All-Dis

OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha senior guard Paige Frauendorfer was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Women's Basketball Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday.
The district team is selected by a vote of sports information directors whose institutions are located within CoSIDA District 7, which includes the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
Frauendorfer's selection means she advances to the Academic All-America ballot and will be considered along with 40 other Division I women's basketball players from around the country for national accolades later this month. Frauendorfer is the sixth Maverick to receive first-team honors and the first since 1996-97, making her the first Maverick to be honored at the Division I level as well. Frauendorfer was one of three Summit League players to receive the honor, as Fort Wayne's Amanda Hyde was a District 5 selection, and South Dakota State's Ashley Eide was a District 6 pick. Frauendorfer was the only Division I player from a Nebraska school to be honored.
A Humphrey, Neb., native, Frauendorfer leads the Mavericks with 14.0 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. She is fifth in The Summit League in scoring and first in rebounding, making her the only player in the top five in both categories. Frauendorfer has been named Summit League Player of the Week three times already this season. She holds a 3.94 GPA majoring in biology with an emphasis in pre-pharmacy. Frauendorfer is also a member of the Dean's List and Chancellor's List at UNO.
