KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Kangaroo Fall Invitational at Kansas City.
The Mavericks shot rounds of 330 and 315 for a score of 645, posting the second-biggest improvement from the first to the second round of the tournament. Southern Illinois leads with a two-round score of 599 followed by Bradley at 616. Northern Illinois is third, three strokes back.
Katie Kesti led the Mavericks with rounds of 79-78-157 to sit in a tie for 17th. Her second-round score is a career best. Sophie Peters is two shots back at 159. Her score of 77 in round two was UNO's best of the day. She is in a tie for 22nd.
Sarah Pravecek is tied for 30th in the 60-player field. She carded rounds of 84-79 for a 36-hole total of 163. Gentry Carveth is fourth for the Mavs after shooting 85-81-166, good for a tie for 36th.
Makenna Kroeker is 47th overall with a first day total of 85-89-174. Kat Slump, playing as an individual, is at 184 through the first two rounds.
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. from the Shoal Creek Golf Course.
