Mavs Close Fall with Second at Bellevue Shootout

VALLEY, Neb. - Katie Kesti tied for the low round of the tournament with a career best 70 as the Omaha women's golf team placed second at the Bellevue Shootout on Friday afternoon.
Kesti lost to Bellevue's Renee Santoyo in a playoff to finish second overall. Her score was nine strokes better than her previous career best and is the lowest 18-hole score shot by a Maverick this fall.
Bellevue won the five-team tournament with a score of 313 followed by UNO at 321. Iowa Western was third at 335. The tournament is the last of the fall season for the Mavericks.
Sophie Peters took fifth overall with a score of 79. Makenna Kroeker was third for UNO and tied for 8th overall at 83.
Gentry Carveth and Kat Slump tied for fourth for the Mavs and 16th overall at 89.
Both Kesti and Peters were named to the all-tournament team.
