
Eleven Mavs Named NFCA Scholar Athletes

OMAHA, Neb. - Eleven members of the 2012-13 UNO softball team were named NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes, the association announced on Monday.
The award is bestowed upon any player who achieved at least a 3.50 grade-point average during the 2012-13 academic year. The honor marks the second component of the NFCA's academic award program. Last month, the Mavericks were honored with the seventh-best GPA among Division I teams with a 3.534.
The Maverick honorees were: Allie Mathewson, Amber Lutmer, Bailey Schulenberg, Campbell Ditto, Dana Elsasser, Lindsay Redding, Mara Eeman, Molly Negrete, Sydney Hames, Tania Carroll and Tara Trede. Mathewson, Negrete and Carroll all posted perfect 4.0 GPAs in 2012-13.
